Make a Wormery

Somerset County Scouts have signed up for The Wildlife Trusts’ 30 Days Wild (June 2020). Follow the link below to find the 30 Days Wild Activity Pack. We particularly like the ‘random acts of wildness’ ideas!

Also – every Wednesday at 10am there is fantastic, brand-new video content uploaded onto their Wildlife Watch YouTube Channel.  From activities to do, to cool wildlife facts – there’s plenty to keep all sections busy with loads of super programme ideas.

There are a large number of videos already available and we have suggested one activity for this week’s South West Region Beavers #ScoutingAtHome activity – ‘How To Make a Wormery’.  Send your Colony members the link (and PDF instructions) in advance so that they can watch the video, and ask them to collect the materials needed. Then make the wormery all together via a Zoom (or similar) meeting.  Alternatively, set your Beavers the challenge to make the wormery with an adult at home, and have a short Zoom meeting to ‘show and tell’ their results!

The link for ‘How to Make a Wormery’ is below.
