Lots of us in the South West are sad that we will not be going to Essex International Jamboree this summer. However, this week’s #ScoutingAtHome ideas will give us a flavour of Essex without the long drive!
Last weekend, Essex County Scouts held their Virtual Camp for all sections. With initial support from Somerset County Commissioner, Liz Henderson, they used a similar format to our May Virtual Camp in Somerset.
Essex Virtual Camp site is still open and the South West is welcome to visit!
Visit the camp site page via this link –
https://www.essexscouts.org.uk/virtual-camp-2020/
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the Activity Zones. Within each zone are lots of new activities – a mixture of videos and downloads, many of which link to a range of badgework for Beavers. We suggest that you take a look at the various options and then send your Colony members the links to 6 specific activities. Challenge them to complete 3 or 4 of these and then get them to feed back / demonstrate their new skill / show you what they made at a Zoom meeting.
This could give you enough programme material for several meetings. My personal favourite is jungle book yoga…..
Have fun and enjoy your virtual visit to Essex!
