Skills for Life

Over 4,000 members aged between 6 and 25 are taking part in the fun, challenge and adventure of Scouting in Somerset every day! 1,000 adult volunteers across our County help our youth members to shape their own adventure.

Welcome to Somerset Scouts

Somerset Scouting offers fun, challenge and adventure to around 4,500 members aged between 6 and 25 …. things are starting to return to “normal” as restrictions ease. The following message is from our County Commissioner.

As the restrictions continue to ease nationally, Scouting in Somerset (and the rest of England) is now at the YELLOW state of alert.

Section meetings can take place outdoors and indoors. It is also now possible for residential activities to take place in England.  Further information is available in the planning COVID-safe Nights Away in 2021 guidance

You can check the latest readiness levels and obtain all the latest guidance and advice on The Scouts website.

Whilst we get to grips with the changes at work, at school or college and in our lives generally, Scouting still strives to be a constant – offering stability, fun and…. skills for life.

I do hope that you get the opportunity to get outdoors with camps, hikes and adventures during the summer.

Stay safe, Somerset.
