Explorer Scout Young Leader Training – Saturday 10th October & Sunday 11th October 2026

Somerset County Programme Team are offering the following Modules, part of the Explorer Scout Young Leader training on Saturday 10th October and Sunday 11th October at Huish Woods Scout Campsite.

The modules being delivered are:

MODULE A – Prepare for Take-Off

MODULE B – Taking the Lead

MODULE F – Making Scouting accessible and inclusive

MODULE I – What did they say ?

MODULE J – Communicate it

The course spans the whole weekend. Unfortunately, you will not be able to opt out of any of the modules provided, but you can sign up if you have done some of the modules in the past and would like to do them again. You will not be able to attend just to complete a single module.

Arrival (Saturday 10th ) at 09:30 in uniform please              Finish (Sunday 11th ) around 15:30

The cost for the weekend is £20 per attendee and this includes all meals. You will need to supply and pitch your own tent(s) as accommodation for this weekend is outdoors.

This course is normally very popular, so early booking is recommended as places are limited to an absolute maximum of 30.

Booking secures you a place which is held for five days to allow you to complete and return the Consent Health & Wellbeing Form (click below) together with the payment of the fee for the weekend. Only when this is fully completed will the place be confirmed.

Booking for places will be open at 20:00 on Sunday 20th September.
