Ojo de Dios Mandalas

Mandalas, made from a cross of sticks and yarn, were originally made hundreds of years ago by the Huichol, the indigenous people of
western Mexico.

When Spanish colonists arrived in the region in the 1500s, they observed the ritual significance of these yarn mandalas to the Huichol people, and named them ‘Ojo de Dios’, which means ‘God’s Eye’.
