August, 2022 Location: Kenya Sections: Adult Volunteer, Explorer Scouts, Scout Network

The international trip, is now planned to take place at the beginning of August 2022, for about 11 days (after the restrictions caused by Covid-19 forced the sad cancellation of this year’s proposed adventure).  The new Project Kenya 2022, will be run by Somerset County Scouts, in conjunction with Melon Mission School in Nakuru and led by the same Scout Leaders that were heading the previously planned trip; Scout leaders who were part of the very successful Project Kenya trip in 2019. This re-launched opportunity is open to youth members of Somerset Scouting who will be aged 14 years and above by 1st August 2022.

As a participant, you will need to fundraise to pay for the trip and advice on how to do this will be offered.  Whilst in Kenya, low-level maintenance work on school buildings (e.g. painting & digging etc), creative and fun activities that engage the children in singing and playing will be all be part of this once in a lifetime opportunity.

In return for your hard work in making a difference, you will get the amazing opportunity to go on a safari at Lake Nakuru, a visit to a volcano crater, and meet international connections.

More Information

As this trip has be re-scheduled, there will only be a handful of places available to new interested participants, so if you are interested, please apply without delay.  The closing date is 28 February 2021.  Any applications after that, may be disappointed.
