Explorer Scout Young Leader Training Weekend – October 2024

Somerset County Programme Team are offering a weekend of Explorer Scout Young Leader training on the 5th & 6th October 2024.

Arrival (Saturday 5th) at 09:00 in uniform please   Finish (Sunday 6th) around 16:00

The cost for the weekend is £20 per attendee and this includes all meals. You will need to supply and pitch your own tent(s) as accommodation for this weekend is outdoors.

The following Young Leaders Modules will be delivered

MODULE A  –  Prepare for Take Off

MODULE B  –  Taking the Lead

MODULE F  –  Making Scouting Accessible & Inclusive

MODULE J –   Communicate it !

The training is across the whole weekend, it is not practical to “dip in / dip out” for individual modules.

In addition to these modules, we will be running a number of fun and interesting activities over the weekend

Places, however, are only secured upon receipt of a fully completed Consent & Health Form together with payment of the fee for the weekend, see below

PLEASE DO NOT SEND A COMPLETED CONSENT & HEALTH FORM OR PAYMENT BEFORE YOU HAVE SECURED A PLACE AS THIS IS NOT A WAY TO “PRE-BOOK” AND YOUR SUBMISSION WILL BE IGNORED.

PLACES MUST BE INDIVIDUALLY RESERVED, IT IS NOT PERMISSIBLE TO “BLOCK BOOK” PLACES. 

Places will be held for FIVE DAYS  after reservation, to allow for receipt of both completed Consent & Health Form and full payment after which it will be released for other prospective attendees.

Places are limited to 30. Once the weekend is “full” you will be able to leave your details to be added to a reserve list and be contacted should a place be available. The reserve list will be contacted in chronological order.
